1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Identity data: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo.
• Account data: Login credentials (stored as hashed passwords), role (Customer or Business Owner).
• Business data (providers): Business name, address, services offered, operating hours, bank account details for payouts.
• Booking data: Service selections, appointment dates, special requests.
• Payment data: Transaction IDs. Card/UPI details are processed by Razorpay and are never stored on our servers.
• Location data: City or address you provide for at-home service bookings. GPS location only if you grant permission for “near me” search.
• Usage data: Pages visited, search queries, device type, IP address, browser type, and cookies (see Section 7).

2. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data only for the following purposes:

• Creating and managing your account.
• Facilitating bookings between customers and service providers.
• Processing payments and issuing receipts.
• Sending transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders, cancellations).
• Improving platform features, preventing fraud, and ensuring security.
• Complying with legal obligations under Indian law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, we process your data based on your consent (provided at registration) or where it is necessary to provide the services you request, or where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (e.g., fraud prevention).

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

• Service Providers you book: Your name and contact details are shared with a business only when you confirm a booking.
• Payment Processor (Razorpay): For processing transactions. Subject to Razorpay's privacy policy.
• Cloud Infrastructure (Microsoft Azure): Hosting and database services. Data is stored in India (Central India region).
• Email Service (Amazon SES): For transactional emails.
• Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide services. After account deletion, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records under the GST Act for 7 years).

6. Your Rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

As a data principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten), subject to legal retention obligations.
• Nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
• Grievance redressal — file a complaint with our Data Protection Officer.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (session management, security) and analytics cookies (page views, feature usage) to improve the platform. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent certain features from working.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, regular vulnerability scans, and access controls. Passwords are stored using bcrypt. Payment data is handled entirely by PCI-DSS compliant Razorpay.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you as required under applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

MultiJobZ is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us, contact us immediately at privacy@multijobz.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
